Insights in the Interim

As it is written in the prophet Isaiah, "See, I am sending my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way; the voice of one crying out in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight,' "

As For Me and My House, We Will Serve
the Lord

"The season of Advent means there is something on the horizon the likes of which we have never seen before ... What is possible is to not see it, to miss it, to turn just as it brushes past you. And you begin to grasp what it was you missed, like Moses in the cleft of the rock, watching God's [back] fade in the distance. So stay. Sit. Linger. Tarry. Ponder. Wait. Behold. Wonder. There will be time enough for running. For rushing. For worrying. For pushing. For now, stay. Wait. Something is on the horizon." - Jan L. Richardson, Night Visions: Searching the Shadows of Advent and Christmas
Something is on the horizon and now is the time to prepare for it. It is that time of year again. It is Advent, the time where we try to slow down and prepare for the greatest gift that could ever be given to us.

Thanksgiving
Thanks
| | |
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
-- 1 Thessalonians 5:18
The annual Thanksgiving Day dinner was huge success. Forty-six parishioners, family and friends gathered together and shared their many blessings. The day began with the Thanksgiving Holy Eucharist service in the sanctuary. Then diners met in Browning Hall for socializing before dinner.
